Start With Notepad Help in Four Steps
Open the online notepad to follow each step in the working editor. Visit The Notepad App for the complete product overview. Begin with a blank note or an existing file, add organization only when it helps, and export important work before it needs to move.
Open Existing Text
Use Open or drag a supported plain text or HTML file into the editor. The file becomes editable content in the current note.
Organize What Matters
Rename useful notes, then add folders, tags, pins, or saved views when the notebook grows beyond immediate capture.
Export Important Work
Download the active note as TXT or Markdown, print it, or export a JSON notebook backup. A portable file remains the safer copy for anything you cannot afford to lose.

Start and Move Between Notes
New opens a blank note. Jump searches notes and commands. Open loads supported text or HTML content from the device.

Download the active note as TXT or Markdown, print a clean copy, or use More to export a complete notebook backup. Open Jump and choose Import notebook backup when you need to merge a valid JSON backup.
