Simple terms for a local-first writing app. Use the tools freely, keep backups of important work, and use the site responsibly.
Short Version
The Notepad App is provided as a free browser-based tool. The current release stores app content locally in your browser and does not provide accounts, cloud sync, or AI features.
Local Storage and Backups
The notepad and tools may store data in your browser. Clearing site data, changing browsers, private browsing, or device cleanup can remove local content. Export important writing to files you control.
Exports and Portability
Export and download controls create files for you to store elsewhere. Check exported files before relying on them, and keep multiple copies of work that matters.
Browser and Device Access
Anyone with access to your unlocked device and browser profile may be able to view locally stored content. Use appropriate device security for sensitive material.
Acceptable Use
Do not use the site to distribute malware, attack the service, interfere with other users, or attempt to bypass technical protections.
Reliability and Availability
The app is provided as-is. Browser storage and website hosting may have limits, bugs, outages, or maintenance windows. We cannot guarantee uninterrupted access or recovery of locally stored content.
Your Content
You remain responsible for the text, files, and materials you create or paste into the app, including whether you have the right to use them.
